RF topgun set up

Postby hubbyhelper » Mon Mar 08, 2010 4:43 am

Again, I am begging you for help. I have solved all my other issues (thanks to all who replied) and hubby has presented me with a new "gift", a RF top gun! (Yes, I did jump up and down and screech with joy).

I connected the gun, hubby drilled in sensor bars (TV came from freecycle) and I put in disk for drivers, that is the part where I started cursing my volunteer status.
I can't find the drivers! The Cd takes me to their website. When I download from website I get

some system files, the config panel, a security catalog, and some text files. I went to congun and installed their drivers, gun now works but config for topgun won't find the gun now.

What am I missing?

Thanks

This is more of a topgun related question, not a MA question. You may get more help in a different forum.

I assume by now you have solved this issue. But if not...I will try to help.

I have an EMS TopGun II so I may not be able to help, but my gun sometimes doesn't see the drivers when I plug it in, so I have to manually goto the driver to install it. I think the driver is called "hidmini.sys" or "hidtopgun.sys"? But if windows asks for the driver for mine, I navigate to "d:\drivers\0718, 0508", of course you have an RF topgun, so the product number and driver folder may be different. Yours may be in a folder named "0807", if there is no folder on your disk then try "0718, 0508". If that doesn't work, just take a look at every numbered folder within the drivers folder, and hopefully something will say "RF Topgun"

Have a look here http://www.hkems.com/product/ps2/RF_TopGun.htm

Good luck.
