Replicatable Script Error after using Trim White Space 1.4

Postby WatermarkShaun » Thu May 07, 2009 9:08 am

I've been getting a replicatable Director Player script error in MA after using the converted PNG files generated from TrimWhiteSpace 1.4. Within the MA UI, immediatly after showing the snapshot image on the screen - and right before the EmuMovie begins, the following error is displayed:

------------------------------------
Director Player Error
------------------------------------
Propery not found

#player

Script Error. Continue?
[Yes] [No]
------------------------------------

A YES selection begins the selected ROM correctly, a NO quits MA.

What's odd is, when I point the IMAGES directory for MAME back to the original unconverted "white space" images, the error does not happen. It is ONLY with the converted PNG files that the error is displayed. And it errors on every ROM, not just a select few.

The quick fix is to not use the coverted images, but I really like whatever it does to remove the white space around the image. This of course could be a problem with the Trim Whitespace 1.4 app itself, although MA should error catch for whatever it is doing...

Has anyone else run into this problem?

I get the same problem trying to use the EmuMovies flv video snaps. I renamed a random AVI file to match one of the MAME roms and it plays back fine but for some reason MA won't play flv files for me. This seems weird because if they aren't supported then surely MA just wouldn't pick them up at all?

Update

I tried some different FLV files and they play back fine. I think it has something to do with the resolution or size of the files. The ones I was having problems with were the emumovies HQ ones. I tried the LQ ones and they seem to work fine.

Shaun, I wonder if you might be having the same problem I was? Maybe try changing your EmuMovies files and see if that works?

this happens to me too. I'm not sure if the snaps i got are already trimmed i downloaded them as a torrent pack.

the FLV files play fine if i remove the path to the snaps....and the snaps show up fine if i remove the path to the video snaps....

but if both are there it shows the snap then errors before the video snap plays....

help? Ive already emailed maximus's support yesterday but no reply quite yet....

No I still get the same error message. Still, I'm in the process of sorting out box art for all my console games so at least I've got something to distract me until the next release! I'll let you know if I make any progress! ;)
