In the time since I sent my last message on this thread, I set up my machine with MaLa. Has no problems, and I can have it boot directly into a game (in my case, Pac-Man.)

I have absolutely none of the problems Maximus does when I use MaLa. Maximus is very attractive and elegant, but ain't cutting it, performance-wise. So while I'm out my money from Maximus, I have a reliably working machine now. Whenever this exiting/controller bug does get corrected, I'll be sure to check it out and see if I want to use Maximus again. But, until then, I'm OK with what I have.

One last thing, and I intend this as sincere feedback: I've really soured on this product due to the very slow response time for acknowledging/addressing the bug. You can't expect to stay in business in a small community like the Arcade/Emulation scene with a paid product that has virtually no tech support.

:ymapplause: Spunkmeyer !

I would love to use MaLa but I find the setup a little off the wall. Do you think you might be able to send me an already setup .config file so I have something to work with? Maybe I'll give it another try. The lack of support for MA is ridiculous X( Look how many years it took for them to work on getting a fix for this, Not fixing it but just talk about fixing it ~x( RIDICULOUS!!

I just think mameseer spends more time doing other things like making the XBOX Portable and other arcade based projects he talks about on the front page. Thats all fine but when you have an on-line business and customers to take care of, work should come before play. I bet the time spent on MA is not even half that of what he spends on his other projects. Mameseer should just release the code and let other people work on it, that way it can get done in a timely manner :!! . I think some of us are far more dedicated to MA than mameseer himself. :-o The sad thing is he knows how X( we all are and yet we don't get updates on how it's coming along, we don't get ANYTHING!! If I would have known about this before I bought MA I would have waited, and I bet if half the people knew what they know now they would have done the same. If that had been the case I bet my last dollar this would have been fixed long ago. At least post it on your front page that some tankstick users may have problems so they don't get into this having to wait years for a fix and are out $25.00 so there arcade cab can sit and collect dust.

Hello all,

I've been sifting through the issues posted above and I understand everyone's frustration. (The offensive one has been deleted - as those types of posts will not be tolerated on this forum) I can sympathize with everyone. Believe me, I end up with the brunt of the frustration, as I am NOT the one who wrote this software and as such I have no power to rectify the bugs. I love to help others, which is why I volunteered to help moderate this forum in the first place. And we've come a long way from what they used to be.

That said, I'd like to say that I have been in contact with Mameseer on the development of this new plug-in for the Tankstick. His plan was to release it as soon as possible. The process is going slower than expected, as he had some issues in his personal life that grinded development to a screeching halt. However, I'm sure once those issues have been resolved he will continue his work with the developer.

As for the "open source" idea: I had pitched that to him a year ago but unfortunately it is not feasible. The reason being is that there are a lot of paid 3rd party plug-ins that are required for development of the front end. If the Maximus Arcade source was released to the public, it would be useless, as the plug-ins require various fees in order to operate.

I hope this explains it a bit and again your patience is greatly appreciated.

I am sorry to hear about the personal issues.

the least maximusarcade.com could do is to adjust the frontpage of this site to reflect the bug with the tankstick in stead of advertising as a perfect sollution with the tankstick

just my 2c (oh, no my 25$ :D )

No surprise. Hopefully when my kids grownup there will be a new working Ver. of MA because I think I'll be dead by the time a new one comes out. X(

Hello all!

This topic has been unlocked! The guys over at XGaming have gotten involved and they requested that I unlock it in order to be able to help the users find a solution. Jeremy at XGaming has some insight as to why the bug is happening.

A few simple rules:
1) Please act appropriately and think before you post. We understand that you are frustrated with the bug, but we are here to help you. Slander will not be tolerated.
2) Read rule # 1

I'd like to get this bug squashed as much as you guys so any positive thinking and contructive conversations are encouraged.

Thanks all!

Awesome. I'd like to start with a question for Jeremy:

Is this issue caused specifically by the SHIFT key, or are the the other keys such as LALT and LCTRL to blame for the bug?

I actually have considered what would happen if we simply remapped those buttons to some other unused keys, but never tried it myself. Would remapping all three to some unused keys resolve the issue?

Thank you for your assistance.
