Border_wide.png and Border_tall.png

Postby Thriver » Sun Jan 24, 2010 2:07 am

Hi guys, I am new to MA. I am working on reskinning the default theme. The hitch I have come upon is with these two files: Border_wide.png and Border_tall.png, which frame the screenshots/videos preview pane. Border_wide is available to select, move around and import an update for, but border_tall is not anywhere in the scene. So when you run MA and preview screens are narrow and call up Border_tall, it's the old graphic.

Can anyone give me a hand? Gotta be a way to get to it, but I haven't got it yet....

Cheers,

Thriver.

When the border_wide sprite is selected, click on the Border tab in Property Inspector, and change the Border: dropdown to Portrait.
The "Name" under Sprite Attributes changes to border_tall. You can then set whatever filename you need.

Keep in mind though, that it will have the same shape and location as border_wide (which gets used for both Default and Landscape).

Also, don't forget to resize your emulatorname_screen sprite while the Border: dropdown is set to each setting. Although the Sprite Attributes "Name" is shared, the size and position are saved for each.

Thank you so much for your help, and your tips too.

Only remaining issue I have is this: I have altered these border graphics, making a black/grey cabinet. And around the edges of the frame on darker screenshots, there are lighter pixels visible when in the front end (not in the editor). This is not visible with the default graphics. And no such brighter pixels exist in the files. I am wondering if photoshop is saving the PNG in a way that is affecting its display in MA?

I have attached a screenshot to show the problem...
